Feeding Directions
- Select the Portion Size:
Determine the appropriate portion size for your cat's meal. Check our feeding calculator here, or consult your veterinarian for recommendations based on your cat's size, age, and activity level.
- Prepare the Container
Obtain an air-tight container or resealable bag appropriate for your selected portion size. Make sure the container is clean and has been washed thoroughly.
- Transfer the Food:
Place the frozen raw cat food into the container. Be sure to seal the container tightly to prevent any leakage. Only prepare enough food for up to 3 days.
- Defrost in the Refrigerator:
Put the sealed container of frozen cat food into the refrigerator. Allow the food to defrost slowly in the refrigerator overnight or for approximately 12-24 hours.
- Prepare the Meal:
Once the frozen cat food is fully thawed, open the container and use a clean utensil to transfer the appropriate portion size to your cat's food dish. If you're feeding multiple portions, you can reseal the container and return it to the refrigerator for later use. Store defrosted food in the fridge for up to 4 days.
- Serve to Your Cat:
Place the cat food dish in a clean and safe area where your cat is comfortable eating. Allow your cat to enjoy the meal at their own pace.
- Store Leftovers
If your cat doesn't finish the meal within 30 mins, you can cover the dish and store it in the refrigerator for a short period (usually up to 24 hours). Discard any uneaten food after this time to ensure freshness.
- By following these instructions, you can safely and effectively defrost and feed frozen raw cat food to your furry companion. Always prioritize hygiene and your cat's well-being during the process.
